8) Fever
Patients with kidney stones usually come to the emergency room with a high fever and pain symptoms. Chills can also accompany fever in kidney stones, and it can be a very high temperature, depending on the pain intensity and whether it is accompanied by an ongoing infection.
However, fever can be triggered simply by the inflammation resulting from the kidney stone passing through the urinary tract and causing abrasions. This releases cytokines that reach the brain centers that control temperature and cause fever.
